Outlook Express Email Setup:

1. Open up Outlook Express. If you do not have and icon on your desktop, go to start, programs, then click on Outlook Express.

2. Click on the "Tools" tab at the top of the screen then select "Accounts", this will open up a dialog box named "Internet Accounts."

3. Within the "Internet Accounts" dialog box click on the "Mail" tab near the top, then click on the "Add" button on the right, then click on "Mail", this will open up the "Internet Connection Wizard"

4. Enter your name as you would like it to appear when you send email to someone in the "Display Name" area. Click next.

5. Enter you Kern Internet email address in the "Email Address" area. Click next.

6. In the area "My incoming mail server is a" POP3 should be selected, if not, click the dropdown button to select it.

7. In the area "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server" type in  mail.kern.com

8. In the area "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" type in  mail.kern.com then click next.

9. In the area "Account name" enter your email username (if you are joe@kern.com then your username is joe) Make sure this is in lower case.

10. In the are "password" enter your email account password. Check the "Remember password box if you don't want to enter the password each time you check your mail. The "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" should not be checked. Click next.

11. Click finish.
