Windows 2000 Dialup Setup:

To connect to the Internet using Windows 2000, you need to have the "Dial-up Networking", the "Dial-up Adapter" and the "TCP/IP Protocol" installed.

1. Double click the "My Computer" icon.
2. Double click the "Control Panel" icon.
3. Double click the "Network and Dial-up Connections" icon.
4. Double click the "Make new Connection" icon. Single click next
5. Check "Dial-up to the Internet" and click next.
6. Check "I want to set up my Internet connection manually" and click next.
7. Check "I connect through a phone line and a modem" and click next.
8. Enter the area code and phone number to connect to Kern Internet. (661) 837-9886, click next.
4. Enter your PPP username and password. Remember, your username always starts with a capital "P" and the rest is lower case. Click next
5. Enter "Kern Internet" as the connection name. Click next.
6. You can now continue and set up your mail or select no and finish to set up your mail at a later time.

*Your PPP Username is different from your KIS username. We precede your regular username with "P" to let the computer know you are a PPP Account. On our system we have more than one type of login. Here are the types of logins available:

P<username> - Normal Internet Login
